2005 Election Results

In accordance with ASMP's Constitution and By-laws, the ballots for the election of new directors were counted this morning (March 16, 2005) at ASMP's offices.  There were 7 candidates running for 5 seats.  The results of the election are below.  The candidates are listed in the same order in which their names appeared on the ballot.  The number following each name indicates the number of votes received by that candidate, and the 5 winners are indicated by asterisks:

• Bob Woodward - 190
  
• Judy Herrmann - 596*
  
• Lon Atkinson - 503*
  
• David Durbak - 278
  

There were 664 ballots received.  Of those, 662 were counted, 2 were voided because they contained either no votes or votes for more than 5 candidates.

The new board members will begin their terms at the time of the next Board meeting, which will be at the end of April.  The election of officers will be held promptly, and the results will be announced as soon as they are known.  Under ASMP's governing documents, the new officers are elected by the sitting board.

We congratulate the winning candidates, and we thank all of the candidates for their efforts and spirit of volunteerism that help keep ASMP the leading organization of its kind. It is the that sort of dedication that has made ASMP an effective advocate for the interests of its members for 60 years.

The results of the election for ASMP officers for the 2005/2006 year are as follows:
