In accordance with ASMP's Constitution and By-laws, the ballots for the election of new directors were counted this morning at ASMP's offices. There were 9 candidates running for 5 seats. The results of the election are below. The candidates are listed in the same order in which their names appeared on the ballot. The number following each name indicates the number of votes received by that candidate, and the 5 winners are indicated by asterisks:
There were 824 ballots received. Of those, 818 were counted, 5 were voided because they contained either no votes or votes for more than 5 candidates, and 1 was invalidated because it was not an official ballot. The votes cast represent a return of approximately 23%, which is a very high voter turn-out for an election of this type, and we thank the membership for taking the time to participate in the election process.
The new board members will begin their terms at the time of the next Board meeting, which will be in mid-April. The results of the election for ASMP officers for the 2004/2005 year are as follows:
President: Susan Carr
1st Vice President: Clem Spalding
2nd Vice President: Stanley Rowin
Secretary: Judy Herrmann
Treasurer: Jim Flynn
We congratulate the winning candidates, and we thank all of the candidates for their efforts and spirit of volunteerism that help keep ASMP the leading organization of its kind. It is the that sort of dedication that has made ASMP an effective advocate for the interests of its members for nearly 60 years.
