ASMP Washington DC - Upcoming Fall Events

During the Fall ASMP DC will offer a three part series on business issues. The first two will focus on areas where photographers are most likely to leave money on the table -- digital post-production and granting use rights licenses. In October Peter Krogh will head up a panel to present models for educating your clients on digital production charges and for making Post profitable. In November Blake Discher will head-up a panel to discuss models for licensing your work and models for granting additional licensing. In January we will finish the series and are honored to have Jeff Sedlik, President & CEO, Picture Licensing Universal Systems, (PLUS, http://www.useplus.org) to introduce the initiative PLUS has undertaken to standardize legal terminology and to moderate a discussion with Jamie Silverberg, President and Director of Litigation, Intellectual Property Group (http://www.artlaws.com); and John Ashley, Section Head, Visual Arts, US Copyright Office (http://www.copyright.gov).

We hope to present models for making your businesses more profitable and then to offer the forms and legal terms necessary to structure appropriate use rights licenses and to protect your copyright.

Please Note: Some dates and panelists await final confirmation.
