How to Get a New Password

Here’s how you set up a new password for the ASMP web site. You have to do this once at the beginning, and you may do it again whenever you choose.

Click on the "Forgot your password" link

1. Click the “Forgot your password?” link on the login form.

Enter member number or email address

2. Enter your member number or an email address that ASMP has on file. It has to be a working address, because that’s where server will send your new password. If the system tells you we don’t have that email (or any email for your account) on file, you must call the national office to have your password manually reset. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Within a few seconds, the server will send email to you. Sometimes mail takes several minutes to wend its way across the Internet, but usually it is quite fast.

First activate your new password.

3. The email message will look something like this. Installing the new password happens in two steps. First, follow the link to activate your new password.

Then go to the login page

4. After it is activated, go to the login page and enter your new password (along with your member number or email address, of course).

Your member profile

5. After you are logged in, you can change the password if you wish. You can also review and update your member profile. General members can upload photos to the Find A Photographer servers.

The Forum login page

6. The ASMP Forum is a little different. You log in with your member number and the new password you have just set up. You can use the Quick Login at top of page, or you can use the Login button. (Due to a quirk in the forum software, your email address probably will not work here.)
