ASMP-CT Presents

Top 10 Tips for Assisting

This event has passed. Its description is archived below.

Being a photographer's assistant is a great way to learn the ins and outs of the business of photography and increase your own photography skills. Do you know what you're getting yourself into?

Getting a job as a photo assistant is a lot like getting a job as a photographer. There's a lot more to it than just fetching coffee and carrying things; you need to be just as professional as the photographer that hires you!

ASMP Connecticut's Top 10 Tips For Assisting will give you a knowledge base that will serve you throughout your career. This is a great opportunity to hear from photographers on both sides of the issue - those hiring and those being hired. We'll candidly discuss how to get a job as an assistant, the kinds of skills that can make you more sought-after, what to expect on a shoot, and some do's and don'ts while you’re there. We'll be accepting questions throughout the discussion.

This program is open to ASMP members and non-members alike.
