On October 29, please join Harvey Finkle and ASMP Philadelphia at Drexel University James E. Marks Intercultural Center for a slide show of the images from Focus on Peace, a discussion by Harvey on the power of images to change our world, and light refreshments.
Harvey will speak on the topic of Photography as a Vehicle for Social Change. For several decades, Harvey has provided views into the cultural, political and economic lives of Philadelphians at the margins. He has shot for dozens of activist and aid organizations, numerous galleries, and compiled three books, Urban Nomads, Still Home: Jews of South Philadelphia and Reading. Finkle thinks of himself as providing a platform for people who sometimes canít be heard: the poor, recent immigrants, the homeless, and the disabled. He continues to work on new projects, communicating stories of communities and individuals to the world with stunning images.
