Getting Personal with Chris Usher: Pursuing Personal Projects to Keep the Creative Edge

This event has passed. Its description is archived below.

Chris Usher, throughout a storied photojournalism career, has consistently sustained the creative spark by engaging in projects that fulfill a desire to go above and beyond the ordinary. Starting out in local newspapers and then moving to DC, Chris' clients have kept him busy with assignments for many domestic and international publications including TIME, LIFE, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, BusinessWeek, L'Express and Der Spiegel and countless others. His vision and hard work has earned him numerous awards from POY, WHNPA as well as an Eisenstadt Award for his unique and controversial depiction of Clinton's post-acquittal speech.

Join ASMP-DC on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in welcoming Chris at our 2013-14 Program Season Kick off as he delves into what makes him get up everyday to tackle his work assignments as well as his personal projects, whether it's a book about Hurricane Katrina, his wet-plate 8x10 images, or exploring the best fly-fishing spots in Montana.
