Join us on Tuesday, May 15 at American University for an important evening with Susan Miller, an expert in the craft of speaking and presenting with impact.
As photographers, we're visual people. Our comfort zone is behind the camera, in front of Photoshop, and twittering on our iPhone apps. To reach out to potential clients, we use social media posts, on-line portfolios, blogs, email blasts, and direct mail pieces. These channels are great and we all use them, but they lack the essential dimension that closes every sale: face-to-face interaction and verbal persuasion. Hiding behind the screen does not get business.
Persuasively presenting yourself and your work in person to potential clients is a basic business survival skill. Learning and mastering those skills can have a direct impact on our bottom lines. Whether speaking to one person in a classic "elevator" talk, several people at a cocktail event, or a larger group at a formal portfolio presentation, there are specific techniques we can all use to improve our effectiveness when presenting our work. Susan will guide us through strategies to enhance our presence, polish our speech, and fine tune our messages.
Consider this evening as the beginning of the process of developing and honing your skills as an effective presenter.
Sign up now. This is sure to be a popular event, an evening not to be missed.
