ASMP-SNW Presents

Taxes for Photographers

This event has passed. Its description is archived below.

It’s tax time again!

Get ready for tax season by attending a presentation by the tax man himself, CPA Howard Choder. Howard has spoken to ASMP in the past and will update us on ongoing state tax issues for photographers, as well as federal tax issues and how to avoid the red flags that could trigger an audit.

About Howard Choder:

After 15 grueling years working for the IRS in Downtown Seattle, I escaped. Not knowing what to do as a free man, I enrolled as a Certificate Student at Photo Center Northwest. Over the years, Taxes kept creeping back into my life and before I knew it, I opened a small Tax Accounting firm on Capitol Hill. My experience both in Photography and in the Tax realm places me in a strategic position to understand both of these worlds. I prepare Taxes for many photographers worldwide to help them understand their business, their taxes and to assist them in reaching their goals.

Washington State Department of Revenue has made some significant changes to the way Photographers are Taxed in Washington State? Are you reporting your State Taxes correctly? Maybe there is a different or better way to report?

Thursday, Jan. 21, from 7 - 9 p.m. at Impact Hub Seattle,  220 Second Ave South
Seattle WA 98104. Doors open at 6:30. Map.

There will be a Q&A session after the presentation, and light refreshments will be available.

Cost is $5 for ASMP members, $10 for non-members, and student members get in free. Pre-regiration is available or simply pay at the door.
