How to Embed Copyright and Contact Information into any saved Photoshop File

These instructions will allow you to embed your copyright and contact information into any saved Photoshop file. This will be a 2-step process, one to automate the action, one to fill in the information.

First open an image file in Photoshop. Then open the ACTIONS window (Window>Actions).

1. Click the arrow at the top to open the menu window.



2. Open the New Action Window



Name the Action.

We chose "Insert ©"
Choose an unused function key and then press the record button.



3. Go to the FILE INFO MENU (File>File Info)
There are 5 pages of information to fill in.
Make sure you change the status of Copyright Status to "Copyrighted Work."

You can save all the File Information data to your hard drive for future reference, just hit the Save button.


4. Press the Stop Recording Button.

From now on, every time you open an image, use your new File Info Function Key.
The © icon will appear on the top and bottom of the image.
If you make other actions you can include this action within those actions.
