Ira Gostin: Entrepreneur, photographer, cowboy

An acclaimed photographer for 25 years, Ira Gostin combined a love of visual communication with business savvy to open Gostin Photography in 1994. Gostin currently is the Director of Visualization and Chief Wrangler of the recently expanded Gostin Productions, LLC, which delivers photography, integrated marketing solutions, brand development and visual communications. Gostin's personal philosophy is to blend photography and creativity with guerrilla and visual marketing while having fun.

A faculty member at the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno, Gostin teaches photojournalism and mentors senior students with their photojournalism projects and portfolios. His national lectures feature subjects ranging from the business of photography to ethics in photojournalism, from integrated marketing to direct mail campaigns.

Gostin is a member of the Advertising Association of Northern Nevada, Advertising Federation of America and the American Society of Media Photographers. Recognized with numerous awards for his photography, including a Pulitzer Nomination, Gostin is the recipient of an Eastman Kodak Fellowship and an Excellence in Commerce award from the Reno Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the International Who's Who of Entrepreneurs.

Married to wife Lorie, the two and step-son Justin live the cowboy life on the Silver Nickel Ranch with their menagerie of horses, dogs, cats and roping dummy Ernest.
