Official Rules
The Sponsor of this competition is The American Society of Media Photographers, Inc., New York Chapter, 101 West 23rd Street #2343, New York, NY 10011.
How to Enter: Submit one or more original Images in the form of a 72-dpi digital file, no larger than 800 pixels in longest dimension, via this website. All entries must be received by August 20, 2008. All submitted Images must be the fully original creations of the entrants, must be the sole work of the entrants, and all persons, places and/or objects appearing within all submitted Images must have been fully and properly released. (If they are not released, the image is still eligible for the competition, but it cannot be used for publicity for the Sponsor or the competition.) Photographer must have the right to reproduce any image that has been previously published. By entering, all entrants agree to grant the Sponsor the right to use their Images on Sponsor's website(s) and in any publicity or promotions for future Sponsor photo competitions. All entrants waive any claims against Sponsor and its affiliates concerning their respective rights in the Images submitted in this Contest. Incomplete entries or entries not satisfying these Official Rules will be automatically disqualified.
Eligibility: The competition is open only to members of ASMP. Void where prohibited by law.
Judging Criteria: All Images and entry materials submitted will be judged against other Entries. All eligible entries received will be judged by the curator, Nina Trivedi. All judging will be conducted in a "blind" fashion: No names will be displayed on the photographs while they are being judged. Judging of the entries will begin on or about August 20th, 2008, with final decisions to be made on or about Aug 25th, 2008. The decisions of the judge shall be final and binding in all respects. By participating, all entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules. All of the eligible entries will be judged on the concept, creativity and technical execution.
Winning Images: All winners will be required to submit a print of their winning Image ("Final Print"), at the winner's sole expense, within 14 days of receipt of winning notification. All Final Prints must match the digital file of the submitted winning Image and must be of professional quality, but there are no size constraints. All Final Prints must be ready to hang (framed or with correct installation hardware) in a gallery. The artist is responsible for shipping the work to the gallery. If any Final Prints do not match the file submitted, are not of professional quality, or are not submitted within the stated time period, the entry will be disqualified. All artwork is due in New York no later then Sept 15th, 2008.
General: By entering, each entrant warrants and represents that: (1) his/her submitted Image(s) are his/her fully original creations; (2) his/her submitted Image(s) are the sole work of the entrant; (3) all persons, places and/or objects appearing within all submitted Images have been fully and properly released; and (4) entrant has the right to grant permission to reproduce any submitted Images that have been previously published.
