Choosing twenty finalists from close to 200 projects submitted for the sixth annual Best of ASMP was a daunting task. Submissions were received from nearly all chapters, as well as international members, and the final cut included Student, General and Life members spanning 15 chapters from coast to coast. The entries were extraordinarily strong, with nearly a third of all entries receiving a 4 or above on our scale of 1 to 5.
Each submission was initially evaluated on its own merits and then judged against work with similar attributes, to arrive at a final selection of engaging projects with a broad reach of geographic location, membership category and market segment. While the quality of submitted materials was of utmost importance, finalist rounds extended to a thorough review of each photographer's website. The projects that made the cut married a strong concept with compelling imagery plus an entrepreneurial characteristic to the work's production, marketing or outreach, which set the work apart.
We sincerely thank everyone who responded to our call and heartily congratulate the 20 finalists. Please plan ahead for next year — the deadline will be here before you know it.
