ASMP/Architecture Specialty Group
The ASMP/Architecture Specialty Group serves as the leading forum for architectural photographers around the world. Formed in 1994, this group’s members create images of architectural designs which further the appreciation and understanding of architecture. The group’s aim is to foster greater communication within the photographic community and to increase understanding and cooperation between architectural photographers, clients, related trade organizations and the entire design community.
If you are an ASMP member and would like to join the Architecture Specialty Group send email to ASMP. If you would like to sign up for the listserv, please visit http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/groups/ASMParch. When seeking to join the group, you are asked to tell the moderators your name so that your membership can be verified.
News
May 2008: An updated version of the AIA Best Practices for architectural photography has been posted in the AIA library. Like the 2006 documents, they are freely downloadable and may be viewed on screen or printed on a desktop color printer.
If you prefer, you may freely download, print and distribute the documents in 8½ x 5½-inch booklet form. (Two-color PDF, 660 KB.) However, for multiple copies, it is probably cheaper to buy in bulk from ASMP's stock.
September 2007: The listserv for the Specialty Group has been moved to Yahoo Groups, which costs less and provides better service than our previous host. The archives from the previous host are available through this members-only page.
June 2006: Some candids from ASMP/Architecture at the 2006 AIA Convention.
May 2006: The American Institute of Architects and ASMP have jointly published a Best Practice series on architectural photography. These documents, although superseded by the 2008 series above, are still available.
